Rei, aka Callum Rei McDougal, is a multi-talented musician who seamlessly bridges multiple genres, particularly urban and electronic.

This 24-year-old from Ngāti Raukawa has been gigging regularly in recent years, playing on main stages, supporting international acts and appearing at festivals.

His new single Good Mood was playlisted on Spotify in Australia, New Zealand and south-east Asia. Apple Music also featured it on their Best of The Week Playlist.

In April 2018, Rei released his first fully te reo Māori project, his EP Rangatira. It debuted at number one on the iTunes World Music charts and has racked up over 100,000 streams across Facebook, YouTube and Spotify.

His album, A Place to Stand, debuted at number one on both the New Zealand iTunes Hip Hop and Heatseeker albums charts.

His video The Chief’s Speech was also featured on international hip hop blog Montreality, getting over 30,000 hits in just a few days.

With solid support from New Zealand radio heavyweights Mai, this young man is tipped for big things.
