Ms Sandy Mill

Gisborne-born Ms Sandy Mill cut her teeth singing with Graham Brazier, Harry Lyon and Hammond Gamble back in the 90s. She then ditched the comfort of classic rock and joined avant garde - Sun Ra inspired Spacesuit with long-time collaborator Darryn Harkness. From there she met Sean Donnelly of SJD and to this day is still an integral member of his band.

In London Ms Mill worked with Flood, Boy George, Basement Jaxx & Placebo amongst others. Back in New Zealand she joined forces with Donnelly, Don McGlashan and Victoria Kelly as The Bellbirds and gained many fans.

Ms Mill appears on Neil Finn’s highly acclaimed ‘Out of Silence’ and the latest New Telepathics album ‘The End of War’. Her debut solo release ‘A Piece Of Me’ is honest work, it’s post-punk soul.

Ms. Mill and her all-star band play in a raw Memphis style of soul, rock and RnB. Vintage sound with a modern bite.
