The Feelers

An altercation on a Christchurch primary school football field was the catalyst for a music partnership between James Reid and Hamish Gee that has spanned almost 20 years and brought us one of our best-loved bands, The Feelers. The band has gone from busking on street corners to becoming pioneers of the Kiwi music industry, amassing some remarkable statistics along the way: a quarter of a million albums sold, five multi-platinum albums, five number one albums, seven number one singles and winning eight NZ Music Awards, including best group and album of the year. They’re now dangerously close to qualifying as a national institution after this many years of hits and touring.
