Rock group theSlacks have been in existence since last century although theSlacks of today got together nine years ago.

They play shimmering, subversive singalongs, with strong lyrics, a fast pace and four-part harmonies in most songs.

Their recent single Big Aroha champions their Māori culture particularly resonating with Kiwi’s overseas.

They have shared a stage with some New Zealand heavyweights (Hello Sailor, Don McGlashan) as well as many local bands and performers and are always seeking opportunities to collaborate with other like-minded people.

“The bulk of the band reside in glorious Taranaki while our drummer prefers the hustle and bustle of Auckland, so we connect whenever and however we can.”
