Head Like A Hole (HLAH)

Wellington stench rock band, Head like a Hole (HLAH), debuted in 1990. Shortly afterwards they were signed by Wildside Records. Over the next decade they toured, released albums and received constant airplay on commercial and student radio, building a fan base in Australasia and Europe.

Their shows were epic, unpredictable and lively. Crazy-eyed punk-rock-n-roll. This wasn’t rehashed pub-rock but a new rock frontier.

If it could happen to a band, it happened to Head like a Hole. Breakdowns, shakedowns, arrests, etc. By 2000 it was all over and the band went their separate ways. Asked to reform in 2009, for the Vodafone Homegrown festival, their second incarnation has been a big success.
