After graduating from the University of Auckland with a Bachelor of Music, Jasmine Balmer had a year long hiatus from even a single strum of her guitar (spending three years studying something you love can do that to you).

In 2016, she dusted off some old songs, pulled a band together and with one rehearsal played an unassuming show, followed by a set at Chronophonium a month later. Since then Being. has played with the likes of Randa, Miss June, LIPS and more.

Their music deals with concepts of wellbeing, mental health and self acceptance of human-ness. Learning to just 'be'. The songs range from playful inner monologues to soundscapes of peaceful melancholy and contemplation.

Sifting through the anxieties of an analytical mind, Being. confronts streams of mind-mess and common threads.
