Jazz Attack promises an afternoon of pumping, powerful, groove-based jazz. Seasoned bassist Oli Holland leads this group of young, mega-talented players in performing his own compositions and arrangements.
Oli’s musical career stretches almost 30 years, has seen him migrate from Germany to NZ, infiltrate the jazz scene, and teach composition, jazz arrangement and improvisation at the University of Auckland Jazz Department.
He frequently travels across many ditches to perform and record with international artists and has four albums on the recordings-to-do-list to add to his 23 album-strong discography.
Oli also composes for and is a member of Auckland’s supergroup DOG which won the 2015 Vodafone New Zealand Tui Award for the best jazz album.
He’s contributed to Whirimako Black’s Sings (Best 2008 jazz album) and Phil Broadhurst’s “Panacea” (Best 2016 jazz album).
